Zoo Day

The kids and I went to the zoo this week with Grandma Crook, Jo and Evan. Mason and Evan had fun riding in the wagon which I got to pull again up and down the very hilly Hogal Zoo. There were a lot of school kids there on field trips so it was a little crowded towards the end but we had lots of fun. Mason loved to see the elephants and the monkeys and the giraffs. He especially liked the baby elephant. Mason is really a little dare devil. One day he is going to fall and crack his head open.

Grandma was lucky enough to get a picture with all the kids who didn't want to cooperate much.

Grandma and her best buddy. Notice Mason had grapes in his checks that he is storing for winter.

Pregers Jo and Evan

Me and Morgie. This was Morgan's 2nd trip to the zoo and she did great. She really loved the train ride. She would squeal and make lots of noises as we were on the ride. Overall a really fun day at the zoo!

9 Months Old

Morgan turned 9 months old on May 11th. She is definetly a mover now! She will army crawl everywhere. She has tried to crawl on her knees but decides it is faster to just drag herself across the floor. By the end of the night her shirt is so dirty from draging herself everywhere. She has both top teeth now and she is saying more words like "baba" She also goes from her tummy to setting up all by herself. She will also pull herslef up in her crib which means that in the middle of the night she will pull herself up and scream because she can't get back down - so I have to get out of bed and put her down. But the very best news of all - Morgan is now weaned and is taking bottles! So huge! She would never take bottles before and I was getting tires of feeding her bacuse she is a bitter. So I just gave her a bottle one day and she took it! Amazing - I am so happy! I also took Morgan to get her 9 month pictures. Her are a few of my favorites. I love her eyelashes. Lucky for her she got her mommies genes.

This is the only smile we got out of her - out of 20 pictures!

This is her first picture of the session. It was so funny that I had to get one!

I took Morgan to the doctor for her 9 month appointment. Thankfully there were no shots this time around - except for pricking her foot to check her iron level but that wasn't too bad. The doctor said she was right on track and that she looked healthy. Her height is 28.5 inches (81%). her weight is 16 lbs and 3 oz (15%) and head circ. is 17.25 (45%). So she is really tall and really skinny. The doctor told me to try to feed her more but I can't force her to eat if she doesn't want to. Anyway I think the nurse weighted her wrong. Well I guess I will try to get her to eat a lot .

Morgan pulling herself up in her crib. She uses the crib rail as her teething ring. This kid chews on everything and puts everything in her mouth. I am constantly vacuuming the carpet and taking forein objects out of her mouth.

I love how peacefull kids look when they are asleep!

Dinasour Park

Since Hadley, JoAnna and Evan are here this week we went to the Dinasour Park. It has been almost 2 years since we last went so we were excited. The only problem was that it was cold! Grandma Crook got to push Morgan in the stroller while I pulled Evan and Mason in the wagon while pregnant JoAnna got to walk. This park is pretty hilly so my job was the most difficult considering I was pulling about 75 pounds between the two boy plus the wagon.

Both boys liked to look at the dinosaurs and they made noises!

Mason liked to show me that both his feet could fit in one of this dinosaurs!

Poor Morgan! She was a trooper being pushed in the stroller and a cool rainy day.

Jo and Evan trying out the footprints.

Mason really liked to stick his head through all the picture holes.

This one took some effort! I had to hold Morgan and Mason up to the holes because they were too short! But it is so cute!

After looking at all the dinosaurs we went to the park which was probably their favorite part.

Grandma got to hold Morgan while Jo and I chased after the boys.

Jungle Jim's

Shane had a day off so we decided to take the kids out for a fun day at Jungle Jim's. Mason wasn't too thrilled about the rides at first but once he got the hange of it he had a blast.
He loved the bumper cars! He had a hard time driving them by himself so daddy had to ride with him. Shane had to sit on the back of the car because he couldn't fit it it. It was way too funny!

Mason laughed so hard every time they hit another car.

He also loved the train cars. He would make the train noises while he was riding.

Morgan was a very good girl. Too little to go on anything but she was happy to watch Mason and sit with either mommy or daddy.

Mason was so tired by the time we left. He got it his carset and wanted a drink and then he fell right asleep. It was a fun day for all of us!

Potty Training

So I have been attempting to potty train Mason and it is definetly harder than I anticipated. I bought training pants and a "froggy potty" and a potty chart. After about a month of potty training aka dragging a screaming child to the bathroom while he says " I don't like to go potty in the froggy potty. I just like to pee in my pants". I have decided to give potty training a rest for another month and hopefully Mason will decide that it is ok to go in the froggy potty. Heaven help me with this child!

The other day Mason was supposed to be picking up his toys he had left in the kitchen. I put the toy at the top of the stais and asked him to take the downstairs to his toy room. Just like any 2 1/2 year old he didn't was to pick them up. He told me to roll them down and he would catch them. Well I rolled the first toy down and he caught it with his face. He screamed and I ran down to look at him and his lip was bleeding a little bit. Once he knew it was bleeding then he acted like he was dying (he must has his daddy's weakness for blood). So we got him all cleaned up and better. A few days later he had a really high feaver. Shane also had a fever a few days before so I took Mason to the doctor to see if he had an ear infection. While the doctor was checking him out he looked in his mouth and Mason said and I quote, "My lip is hurt. Mommy did it on purpose". I wanted to sink into the floor. My own son was ratting me out! On the was out to the car I had to look around to make sure a social worker wasn't going to tackle me to the ground and take Mason away from me. Oh the things children say.
Here is Mason when we were trying to potty train. He didn't wear pants much for a few weeks - just easier to go to the potty. He also was trying to fix the gate for Morgan so she won't fall down the stains when she is in her walker. Such a nice big brother!

Morgan is 8 Months Old

Morgan turned 8 months old on April 11th! I can't believe how big she is getting. She is a lot of fun and so sweet! She is starting to show her inner drama queen (preview to the teen years). If I don't pick her up right away when she wants she will get an over dramatic cry and lay on the floor and lay her head on her arms - like the world is over. It is so funny! She has her bottom 2 teeth now and is going to get her top 2 any day now. She is getting a lot more vocal. She say's "dada" and "mama" and she is a good army crawler. She also loves her walker. I put the gate up by the stairs and put her in her walker while I am making dinner and she goes all over the kitchen and dinning room. She loves to chase Mason too. It is so funny to watch them. They take turns chasing eachother.

Easter at Grandma's House

We had Easter dinner at Grandma Crook's house. After dinner we had an Easter egg hund. We sent Angie and her boyfriend Sterling out to hid the eggs. The kids grabed their baskets and ran outside. Morgan stayed with Mandy while Shane and I went out with Mason. Mason is a pro at finding eggs by now. Notice the snowman in the background. So not fair to have snow and to have freezing cold weather on Easter.

Mason is so proud of all the eggs he found! Poor Morgan had to stay in the house because it was too cold for her outside and she cried the whole time. Several people tried to comfort her but she would have none of it. She just looked out the window trying to find mommy! No one will due lately but mommy.

This picture is as good as it gets after a day of nothing but sugar!
