Jungle Jim's

Shane had a day off so we decided to take the kids out for a fun day at Jungle Jim's. Mason wasn't too thrilled about the rides at first but once he got the hange of it he had a blast.
He loved the bumper cars! He had a hard time driving them by himself so daddy had to ride with him. Shane had to sit on the back of the car because he couldn't fit it it. It was way too funny!

Mason laughed so hard every time they hit another car.

He also loved the train cars. He would make the train noises while he was riding.

Morgan was a very good girl. Too little to go on anything but she was happy to watch Mason and sit with either mommy or daddy.

Mason was so tired by the time we left. He got it his carset and wanted a drink and then he fell right asleep. It was a fun day for all of us!

Potty Training

So I have been attempting to potty train Mason and it is definetly harder than I anticipated. I bought training pants and a "froggy potty" and a potty chart. After about a month of potty training aka dragging a screaming child to the bathroom while he says " I don't like to go potty in the froggy potty. I just like to pee in my pants". I have decided to give potty training a rest for another month and hopefully Mason will decide that it is ok to go in the froggy potty. Heaven help me with this child!

The other day Mason was supposed to be picking up his toys he had left in the kitchen. I put the toy at the top of the stais and asked him to take the downstairs to his toy room. Just like any 2 1/2 year old he didn't was to pick them up. He told me to roll them down and he would catch them. Well I rolled the first toy down and he caught it with his face. He screamed and I ran down to look at him and his lip was bleeding a little bit. Once he knew it was bleeding then he acted like he was dying (he must has his daddy's weakness for blood). So we got him all cleaned up and better. A few days later he had a really high feaver. Shane also had a fever a few days before so I took Mason to the doctor to see if he had an ear infection. While the doctor was checking him out he looked in his mouth and Mason said and I quote, "My lip is hurt. Mommy did it on purpose". I wanted to sink into the floor. My own son was ratting me out! On the was out to the car I had to look around to make sure a social worker wasn't going to tackle me to the ground and take Mason away from me. Oh the things children say.
Here is Mason when we were trying to potty train. He didn't wear pants much for a few weeks - just easier to go to the potty. He also was trying to fix the gate for Morgan so she won't fall down the stains when she is in her walker. Such a nice big brother!

Morgan is 8 Months Old

Morgan turned 8 months old on April 11th! I can't believe how big she is getting. She is a lot of fun and so sweet! She is starting to show her inner drama queen (preview to the teen years). If I don't pick her up right away when she wants she will get an over dramatic cry and lay on the floor and lay her head on her arms - like the world is over. It is so funny! She has her bottom 2 teeth now and is going to get her top 2 any day now. She is getting a lot more vocal. She say's "dada" and "mama" and she is a good army crawler. She also loves her walker. I put the gate up by the stairs and put her in her walker while I am making dinner and she goes all over the kitchen and dinning room. She loves to chase Mason too. It is so funny to watch them. They take turns chasing eachother.

Easter at Grandma's House

We had Easter dinner at Grandma Crook's house. After dinner we had an Easter egg hund. We sent Angie and her boyfriend Sterling out to hid the eggs. The kids grabed their baskets and ran outside. Morgan stayed with Mandy while Shane and I went out with Mason. Mason is a pro at finding eggs by now. Notice the snowman in the background. So not fair to have snow and to have freezing cold weather on Easter.

Mason is so proud of all the eggs he found! Poor Morgan had to stay in the house because it was too cold for her outside and she cried the whole time. Several people tried to comfort her but she would have none of it. She just looked out the window trying to find mommy! No one will due lately but mommy.

This picture is as good as it gets after a day of nothing but sugar!

Easter 2010

The Easter bunny brought the kids fun stuff in their baskets and also hid lots of eggs for them to find. Mason was really excited to see what the Easter bunny brought him. When both kids were awake and Morgan was feed we ventured downstairs to see what the Easter bunny had left for them. Mason was very excited to play with his magnadoodle. Then he saw the treats in his Easter basket and forgot all about the toys. Then he looked around and saw a few eggs hidden and he was off to search the rest of the house.
Daddy tried to help Morgan find a few eggs but she was more interested in putting the eggs in her mouth. It was ok - big brother was happy to find them all himself.

Mason was so excited to find the eggs he had dyed but he was supper excited to find the eggs with candy and money in them.
Daddy had to try out the bunny ears!

By this time I was trying to get breakfast done but Mason had other ideas for breakfast. I think he had more candy on Easter that at Christmas.

Morgan loved to play with her stackable rings.

Eventhough it was General Conference Sunday I still had to dress the kids in their Easter outfits. They looked so adorable! I love Morgan's flower headband and how Mason loves to put his arm around her for pictures.

Some of our spring flowers are up so we had to get a picture infront of the house. Overall We had a great Easter. It was Morgan's first and it was fun to see how excited Mason was.

Dying Easter Eggs

Mason was really excited to dye Easter eggs this year. He put on his apron and started putting the eggs into the dye. Daddy helped him write his name on some of the eggs. I helped Morgan with a few of hers. She was happy to sit in her highchair and watch the rest of us.
This is the egg I made for Morgan - she is my little sweet pea!

Mason tried to be patient but he kept taking the eggs out to check on the color.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our HOA puts on an easter egg hunt every year and this was Mason's first time. We all dressed warm since it was freezing outside and went over to the park at 9:00 am. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for everyone to arrive and then they started the hunt. They let kids 2 and under go first so when the whistle blew Mason ran off to get one egg. Then he turned around an noticed that we were still behind the yellow tape so he ran back to get daddy to help him. Mason was able to get 12 eggs before the whistle blew for the older kids. Once Mason had his eggs he said he was too cold so we went home.
